PRODUCT WARRANTY AGREEMENT

Coverage and Duration

Scooter Scooter stands behind the quality of its Electric Scooters and e-bikes. We offer this limited warranty to the original purchaser, assuring the product's craftsmanship and materials during normal use within the defined warranty period. This warranty is effective for the duration stated in the product specification table, subject to any applicable legal requirements. It's important to note that your legal rights are not affected, and the minimum statutory warranty period is preserved as per the law. We cannot guarantee continuous or error-free operation of the product.

Available Remedies

Should a manufacturing defect arise and a valid claim be submitted within the Warranty Period, Scooter Scooter is committed to addressing the issue in the following ways:

  1. Repair: We will repair the product using new or refurbished parts at no cost.
  2. Replacement: We will replace the product with a new or refurbished one.
  3. Refund: We will refund the original purchase price, excluding shipping costs.

These solutions, in compliance with applicable law, serve as your exclusive remedies for addressing defects. Scooter Scooter reserves the right to use original or non-original parts for repairs, ensuring that any non-original parts are of equivalent quality. Shipping and handling fees may apply, unless prohibited by law. Any replacement hardware product will be covered for the remaining period of the original warranty or for thirty (30) days, whichever is longer, or any other period required by your local jurisdiction.

Process for Warranty Service

To initiate a warranty claim, you may be asked to provide proof of purchase details along with the warranty card containing the product's serial number, in accordance with the law.

Product Return Guidelines

Our overall return guidelines pertain exclusively to products purchased directly from Scooter Scooter. To qualify for the individual return policy, adherence to these guidelines is essential. All product returns require a return order number, obtainable by reaching out to our warranty support service via email at info@scooterscooter.ie. Depending on the reason for the return, return shipping costs might be deducted from your refund. Products received by Scooter Scooter under the following conditions will not be eligible for return:

  • Products not originally purchased from Scooter Scooter.
  • Products with missing, damaged, altered, or unreadable serial number labels.
  • Products displaying physical damage.
  • Products showing signs of tampering, customization, or alteration by the user or a connected party.

Unfounded Warranty Claims

Scooter Scooter defines an unfounded warranty claim as one without a genuine issue or where the issue arises from incorrect assembly or improper use by the customer. In such cases, all associated costs will be the sole responsibility of the customer. This includes expenses related to collection, delivery/return, standard collection and delivery/return rates, and any time expended by a Scooter Scooter representative (usually a mechanic) to inspect or work on the item.

Scope of Warranty and Exceptions

While batteries are warranted for the initial year or the first 10,000 km traveled, whichever comes first, items subject to wear and tear are not covered. These items require regular service and replacement, including:

  • Tyres
  • Inner tubes
  • Rubber foot pads
  • Handlebar grips
  • Brake cables
  • Brake pads
  • Brake discs
  • Brake handles
  • Paint
  • Rubber bungs
  • Wheel bearings
  • Missing parts
  • Mudguards
  • Mechanical damage such as snapped or damaged bolts or other parts
  • Any accidental damage or intentional/reckless damage

This warranty exclusively addresses original manufacturer defects. Misuse, improper handling contrary to user manual instructions, and crash damage will render the warranty void.

In addition, warranty coverage will be nullified if the part submitted for repair or maintenance shows signs of alteration or customization by the user or any party connected to or instructed by the user.

Spare Parts Warranty

No warranty is extended to spare parts supplied by Scooter Scooter and subsequently installed by the customer or any third party other than Scooter Scooter Ltd.

Water Damage Exclusion

This limited warranty does not extend to damage caused by water ingress. It is your responsibility to be aware of your electric scooter's ingress protection (IP) rating and only use the product in line with this rating. Unless explicitly waterproofed, most electric scooters should not be used in wet conditions, rainy weather, or on wet surfaces. However, if any evidence indicates tampering with the waterproofing installed by Scooter Scooter or the removal of the waterproof dashboard cover, this extended warranty coverage will be void.

Firmware Modifications

Any alterations to the original firmware made by the user will result in the nullification of this limited warranty. Non-standard firmware alterations can also pose a fire hazard due to the potential risk of internal cable melting.

Routine Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance of components such as brakes and adjustable parts is essential for safety and optimal performance. Owners must ensure that all adjustable parts are secure and safe for use. If any uncertainties arise, please contact Scooter Scooter at (087) 392 3038. Regular checks to confirm that nuts and bolts are securely tightened and not loose or missing are recommended.

Repairs and Servicing

For the duration of the limited warranty period, all repairs and servicing must be exclusively conducted by Scooter Scooter or authorized partners. Any work carried out by unauthorized parties will void the limited warranty. This notice aims to transparently and accessibly outline the provisions of the limited warranty. Scooter Scooter retains the right to make reasonable exceptions to the above guidelines. Any exceptions made will be determined solely by Scooter Scooter.

Service & Repair Warranty

We are dedicated to upholding high repair standards for electric scooters at Scooter Scooter. In situations where original manufacturer spare parts are unavailable, we utilize equivalent spurious parts that match the original specifications.

Following any repair undertaken by Scooter Scooter, a comprehensive parts and labor warranty is in effect for 30 days. This means that if a part installed by Scooter Scooter fails within 30 days due to an original defect in the part or its installation, Scooter Scooter will replace the part and conduct the installation without any cost to the customer. From the 31st to the 365th day after installation, the warranty pertains solely to the part itself. Should a part installed by Scooter Scooter fail during this period due to an original defect, Scooter Scooter will provide a new part at no charge, while the customer bears the labor cost for the repair.

Exclusions to the service and repairs warranty mirror those in the original product warranty:

  • Tyres
  • Inner tubes
  • Rubber foot pads
  • Handlebar grips
  • Brake cables
  • Brake pads
  • Brake discs
  • Brake handles
  • Paint
  • Rubber bungs
  • Wheel bearings
  • Missing parts
  • Mudguards
  • Mechanical damage such as snapped or damaged bolts or other parts
  • Any accidental damage or intentional/reckless damage
